Flute lessons begin at 30min. a lesson increasing to 45min. or 1 hr. for intermediate and advanced players. Lessons are prorated starting at $140/mth. for 4 weeks. In these lessons, you can expect to cover tone, technique, sight-reading, and musical expression while working through a standard flute method or flute repertoire. Several of my students have gone on to play principal flute in youth and community orchestras and to place in local and regional competitions.
About Jamie: Ms. Mulfinger, an accomplished flutist and arranger, seeks to inspire others through the gift of music. By age sixteen, Jamie had soloed with a local symphony, performed live on several radio programs, and received awards from two prestigious competitions on the California central coast. She is indebted to her flute teachers, Alice McGonigal of the San Luis Obispo Symphony, Dr. Karen Kuehmann, and Isabelle Chapuis Starr, graduate of Paris Conservatory, soloist and principal flutist of Orchestra Opera San Jose.
Ms. Mulfinger went on to earn undergraduate and graduate degrees in Flute Performance and also holds a Master of Education degree. She was featured as soloist with several symphonies, received numerous awards, including the San Jose Music Study Club Young Artists Competition, and was a semi-finalist in the William C. Byrd International Competition. Jamie’s career has taken many forms such as flute soloist, Fine Arts Director, rehearsing and conducting handbells, choir, band, brass ensemble, and string ensemble, as well as piano accompanist and guitar instructor.
